Video Relay Calling Tips
- Before your call is placed, give the VI all special instructions.
- Make it easy for the VI to see your signing. Wear solid colors and position yourself in front of a solid background. Use bright lighting.
- Place your webcam to capture your facial expressions and signing.
- Improve video quality by closing other software applications and restarting your computer.
- Re-size your video window so you can see yourself more clearly while you communicate.
- Save names and numbers in the Phone Book for quick access.
- To avoid confusion, let the VI know whether you are providing your name or the name of the person you want to call.
How to Set Your Video Image Size
- Click the "Undock" button to bring up a pop-up box.
- Click the word “Tools” to bring up a menu.
- Scroll to the word “Video” to bring up one last menu.
- Scroll to the words “Window Size” to bring up a settings box.
- Increase or decrease the size of your video box as you see fit.
How to Save Names and Numbers in Phone Book
- Click on the "Use Phone Book" button.
- Click "New User" and fill out the short form that pops up.
- You may now add names and numbers to your Phone Book list.
- When placing a call, you may add the number you are calling to your list by clicking the "Add to Phone Book" button.
