Hearing Carry Over
Hearing Carry Over or HCO is a type of relay call that allows a person who can hear but not speak to listen directly to the standard telephone user’s conversation and respond by typing their text on the TTY.
AT&T Relay Services offers four different HCO options to meet individual needs:
- Basic HCO allows you to listen to the speaking person you have called and then type your response. Get step-by-step instructions
- HCO-to-HCO allows you to communicate with other HCO users. Get step-by-step instructions
- HCO-to-TTY allows you to listen to a TTY user’s conversation read aloud. Get step-by-step instructions
- Privacy HCO allows you to listen to the person you have called without the Communications Assistant hearing the conversation. Get step-by-step instructions
