Text Accessibility Plan for iPhone

Overview

AT&T is pleased to offer Text Accessibility Plans* for iPhone® 3G, iPhone 3Gs, iPhone 4, iPhone 4s, and iPhone 5. These rate plans were developed for customers who are deaf, hard of hearing, or have a speech disability and/or hearing loss.

**In addition to the monthly cost of the rate plan and any selected features, AT&T imposes the following charges: a Regulatory Cost Recovery Fee of up to $1.25 to help defray its cost incurred in complying with obligations and charges imposed by state and federal telecom regulations, a gross receipts surcharge, and State and Federal Universal Service Charges. These fees are not taxes or government-required charges. Taxes and other fees also apply.

***FaceTime over Wi-Fi is supported on iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPad 2, and the new iPad without a Text Accessibility Plan.

Customers interested in the TAP plans for iPhone must qualify by completing the Text Accessibility Plan (TAP) Application and Certification Form, (TAP_disability_certification_form.PDF, 115 KB). TAP plans are available for all versions of iPhone.

Customers interested in a TAP plan for iPhone will need to follow regular iPhone activation procedures. Once iPhone is activated, the customer may contact our National Center for Customers with Disabilities to change his or her plan to one of the TAP plans for iPhone.
